Cody-Kilgore have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Minatare on Friday . It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close matchup.
Two weeks ago, Cody-Kilgore secured a 44-38 W over Arthur County. Sophomore Jesus Garza, who rushed for 64 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Cody-Kilgore's success.
Meanwhile, Minatare took the contest and then some with a 48-6 win last Friday over Crawford. With Minatare ahead 34-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-0. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Minatare and Cody-Kilgore will really light up the scoreboard.
