Basketball Recap: Bloomington North Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ava Robbennolt and Katharine Lehr

Bloomington North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos.

Bloomington North's loss came despite strong showings from Katharine Lehr and Ava Robbennolt. Lehr dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards, while Robbennolt posted 14 points. Lehr has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashley Stegemoller, who put up six points.

Lafayette Jefferson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaylee Barrett out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Barrett a new career-high. Cambria Marcus was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Bloomington North now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Bloomington North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-43 win against Perry Meridian on the 26th. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-31 victory against Lebanon on the 26th.
