The Coral Glades Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 42-21 defeat at the hands of Fort Lauderdale. Coral Glades lost against Fort Lauderdale in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-34 score last time.
Fort Lauderdale found their leader in underclassman Azaziah Evans-Blake, who scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Evans-Blake has scored at least 25% of Fort Lauderdale's points. Another player making a difference was Maranda Byrnes, who scored 8 points.
Coral Glades' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Fort Lauderdale, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Glades will take on Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Fort Lauderdale won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chaminade-Madonna at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.
