The Fernley Vaqueros stacked a 17th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 59-28 win over Elko on the road. The win was nothing new for Fernley as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Fernley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Tollestrup out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Tollestrup is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiserita Otuafi, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roxanne Keim, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Fernley's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.5 points. As for Elko, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Spring Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Fernley is ranked fifth). As for Elko, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dayton at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Elko and seven for Dayton.
