Last Friday, Greater Atlanta Christian didn't have too much trouble with North Springs on the road as they won 64-50. Given Greater Atlanta Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while North Springs is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Greater Atlanta Christian can attribute much of their success to Mikey Carpenter, who scored 17 points, and Rich Rojas, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Rojas' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Teague, who scored 7 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Brookwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Parkview 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Greater Atlanta Christian pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brookwood, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Greater Atlanta Christian came up short against Brookwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 65-54. Will Greater Atlanta Christian have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
