The Freedom Eagles will face off against the Loudoun County Captains at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freedom has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Freedom is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Patriot just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers.

Ashleigh Bronowicz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Loudoun County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Captains, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Keira Bertoglio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Abby Williams and Olivia Eastlake did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Eastlake went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Addison Cook was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Loudoun County pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freedom, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Freedom hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Loudoun County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Freedom might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Loudoun County in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
