Meanwhile, Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-5 to Hawkinsville. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Red Devils since Wednesday.
Shaw has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.5 runs this season. As for Marion County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Shaw was able to grind out a solid victory over Marion County in their previous meeting on Thursday, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
