We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wayne Christian comes in on four and Cape Fear Christian Academy on three.
On Tuesday, everything went Wayne Christian's way against Liberty Christian Academy as Wayne Christian made off with a 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addison Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Railee Winter was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Riley Sutton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Cape Fear Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Fayetteville Christian.
Glenna Mclamb and Finley Phillips made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Mclamb tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Phillips tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Mclamb went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Phillips scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kristina Kennedy, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Caylee Braswell, who scored a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Cape Fear Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayetteville Christian only posted an OBP of .250.
Cape Fear Christian Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15 runs. As for Wayne Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Wayne Christian skirted past Cape Fear Christian Academy 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Wayne Christian repeat their success, or does Cape Fear Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
