AJ Schultz was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gia Stone, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Argonaut was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Amador was able to grind out a solid victory over Hilmar on Tuesday, taking the game 7-3.
Jessica Mittelstadt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophia Dooley, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Reilly Peckinpaugh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Argonaut's win bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Amador, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Argonaut has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Amador struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Argonaut suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Amador in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
