There's no place like home for The Laurel Spartan, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Summit Academy with a sharp 30-6 victory on Friday. Laurel's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Ben Hennon was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Luca Santini was another key contributor, throwing for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only three passes.
Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Summit Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laurel will square off against Shenango at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Shenango is ranked 395th, while Laurel is ranked 379th). As for Summit Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Union Area at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
