Fowler's and Rocky Ford's game on Saturday was close at halftime, but Fowler turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Fowler took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 53-21 win over Rocky Ford. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Fowler has posted since December 5, 2023.
Fowler's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gracie Osborne led the charge by scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Osborne hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Randi Maestas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Peyton put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Salida 72-35 at home. Peyton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for AJ Mannering, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emme Ratliff, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Fowler now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Peyton, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Fowler have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 34.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Peyton struggles in that department as they've drained 38.3% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
