Basketball Game Preview: First Academy Eagles vs. Hampden DuBose Academy Lions

The First Academy Eagles will take on the Hampden DuBose Academy Lions in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, First Academy came up short against Taylor and fell 59-50.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aidan Jezowski, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Walsh, who put up ten points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, First Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hampden DuBose Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Elite Prep Academy 59-23. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hampden DuBose Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for First Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

First Academy beat Hampden DuBose Academy 51-41 in their previous meeting back in January. Will First Academy repeat their success, or does Hampden DuBose Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
