Sweetwater extended their postseason success on Saturday against St. Monica. They put the hurt on the Mariners with a sharp 47-27 win. Winning may never get old, but Sweetwater sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Sweetwater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xzavier Crews out in front who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Carlos David Delgado and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Sweetwater's victory.
Meanwhile, Colusa's offense rose to the challenge against a Warriors defense that boasted an average of only 8.71 points allowed. Colusa took their match on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over South San Francisco. 42 seems to be a good number for Colusa as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Colusa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bo Coronado, who threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Isaiah Travis was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sweetwater has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 8-6 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Colusa, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
