Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Ely

While Ely's win against Hill City/Northland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Hill City/Northland 61-59. The win was all the more spectacular given the Timberwolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Hill City/Northland are ranked 97th).

The victory made it two in a row for Ely and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Hill City/Northland, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
