Chester is 2-7 against Academy Park since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Chester Clippers will head out on the road to face off against the Academy Park Knights at 1:00 p.m. Chester will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Chester put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 48-8 win over Chichester. Given Chester's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Chichester is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chester got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Harris out in front who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dominic Toy also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Chester's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Asaiah Payne and Toy who racked up four sacks between them.
Academy Park can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Interboro and snuck past 12-10.
Chester's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Academy Park, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Everything went Chester's way against Academy Park in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Chester made off with a 39-16 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Academy Park's Terrence Oliver, who rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Chester to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
