The Hubbard Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Girard. If Hubbard was looking for revenge after losing 47-36 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Hubbard lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Phoebe Rusnak, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Khamyah Howell, who scored five points along with five steals.
Hubbard has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Girard, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Hubbard will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lakeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Girard, they will be playing at home against the Fighting Irish at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
