Lakota is 2-8 against Hopewell-Loudon since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lakota Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. Lakota is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Lakota came up short against Gibsonburg and fell 40-31. While losing is never fun, Lakota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Gibsonburg is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Hopewell-Loudon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 35-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvert.
Lakota's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Lakota beat Hopewell-Loudon 41-32 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakota since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
