Baseball Recap: Coastal Mississippi Homeschool Has No Trouble Against Laurel Homeschool

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool got themselves on the board against Laurel HomeSchool on Thursday, but Laurel HomeSchool never followed suit. They blew past the Knighthawks 13-0. Considering the Wildcats have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sam Murphy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Coastal Mississippi Homeschool is 7-3 when Murphy posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Caleb Delaughter was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laurel HomeSchool only posted an OBP of .118.

With the win, Coastal Mississippi Homeschool broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-5. As for Laurel HomeSchool, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Coastal Mississippi Homeschool and Laurel HomeSchool will both be playing Hattiesburg HomeSchool the next time they take the field. The Knighthawks will host the Forerunners at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
