Despite the loss, Timothy Christian had strong showings from Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Sami Drye, who scored 12 points.
Juliette Huff was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight steals for Marian Central Catholic. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huff has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Kenyon, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Timothy Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Marian Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
Timothy Christian will head out on the road to take on IC Catholic Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. IC Catholic Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Timothy Christian in Illinois (IC Catholic Prep is ranked 92nd, while Timothy Christian is ranked 415th). Marian Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. St. Edward has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
