The Algonquin Regional Titans lost against the Leominster Blue Devils back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Algonquin Regional took a 25-8 bruising from Leominster.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leominster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Cora, who rushed for 117 yards on only 13 carries. Cora is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aramis Reyes, who rushed for 101 yards on only 11 carries.
Algonquin Regional's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.7 points per game. As for Leominster, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Algonquin Regional will take on Tantasqua Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leominster, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's Prep is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
