The Grace Christian Warriors's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rapides Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Grace Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Rapides is ranked 176th).
Last Tuesday, Grace Christian made easy work of Alexandria Country Day and carried off a 54-33 win. The win was just what Grace Christian needed coming off of a 66-29 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Rapides scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Alexandria Country Day for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-17 victory at home. Rapides has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.
Rapides' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sheldrick Vall, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zayveian Johnson, who scored 23 points along with three steals.
Grace Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for Rapides, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.
Grace Christian was dealt a bruising 63-14 loss at the hands of Rapides in their previous matchup back in January. Can Grace Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
