The Murray Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over Tooele. The win made it back-to-back wins for Murray.
Leading Murray to victory were Charlotte Scherbel and Mia Auclaire. Scherbel scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Auclaire scored 25 points along with four steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Grace Taeoalii, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tooele lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josie Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Searle, who scored nine points along with four blocks.
Murray now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Tooele, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murray will take on Park City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Park City is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tooele, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. Hillcrest comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
