There's no place like home for Ursuline Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against Booker T. Washington on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Ursuline Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 13 runs or more this season.
Shelby Culotta made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Dixie Tatum and Taylor Bellaci did most of the damage at the plate: Tatum went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while Bellaci scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Tatum a new career-high. Josie Scobel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Ursuline Academy pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
