With a playoff game on the line, the Gibson Southern Titans rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 victory over the Hatchets. Winning may never get old, but Gibson Southern sure is getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Gibson Southern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nola Ravellette, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Ravellette posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Schnaus, who scored 13 points.
Gibson Southern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-5.
Gibson Southern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Scottsburg at 12:00 p.m. on February 17th. Hopefully Gibson Southern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
