After losing to the Franklin Learning Center Bobcats the last time they met, Nueva Esperanza decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Nueva Esperanza blew past Franklin Learning Center 69-49.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Learning Center saw an underclassman step up: Kadeem Martin scored 15 points along with 4 blocks. Martin scored a full 30.6% of Franklin Learning Center's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Keymir Hargrove, who scored 10 points.
The victory got Nueva Esperanza back to even at 1-1. As for Franklin Learning Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Nueva Esperanza will head out on the road to face off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas A. Edison and Nueva Esperanza are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Franklin Learning Center, they will be playing at home against Parkway Center City at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Parkway Center City's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
