The Richfield Tigers entered their tilt with the Hagerman Pirates with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Richfield simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Hagerman 48-21 at home. Richfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Kasey Hendren continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Hendren is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shelby Jones, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Hagerman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Payton Lopez. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points.
Richfield pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hagerman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richfield will challenge Dietrich at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hagerman won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Twin Falls Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
