Softball Recap: Ferndale Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Ferndale came out on top against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Yellow Jackets were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Rams. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won seven matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Delaney McKendree was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Deajah Chatman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ferndale lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

The win (which was Ferndale's third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Ferndale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-1 defeat against Glendale on the 29th. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they have also already played their next match, a 13-11 loss against Blacklick Valley on the 29th.
