Wellington is 0-3 against Bennett since March of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m.
On Monday, Wellington didn't have quite enough to beat Severance and fell 7-6.
Cade Keller and Luke Moore did some serious damage despite the final result: Keller went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Moore went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Meanwhile, Bennett got themselves on the board against Mitchell on Monday, but Mitchell never followed suit. They blew past the Marauders 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Cougar Cronk was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bennett is 5-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Cronk was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
In other batting news, Bennett let Evan Garner and Avant Dickens run wild. Garner went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Dickens got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Dickens has become a key player for Bennett: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-10 otherwise. Trevor Evans was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Bennett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Bennett's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Wellington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
