The North Duplin Rebels and the Southeast Halifax Trojans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the North Duplin Rebels had to settle for second. North Duplin took a 26-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southeast Halifax. It was the first time this season that North Duplin let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why North Duplin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dujuan Armwood. Despite the final result, he rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Armwood is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Trayvese Silver was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 164 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jamereius Hudson, who rushed for 100 yards on only six carries.
North Duplin's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Southeast Halifax, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
North Duplin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southeast Halifax will head out on the road to face off against Tarboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tarboro knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Southeast Halifax likes a good challenge.
