The Camden County Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Holmes Aces at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Camden County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, Camden County ended up a good deal behind Hertford County and lost 65-50. While losing is never fun, Camden County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Hertford County is ranked 106th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Xzavior Wiggins, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was J'ron Pendleton, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Holmes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 65-50 to First Flight. Holmes has struggled against First Flight recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Camden County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Holmes, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Camden County beat Holmes 48-40 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Camden County repeat their success, or does Holmes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
