Bay Port has gone a perfect 10-0 against Sheboygan South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Redwings at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bay Port has six straight wins, Sheboygan South has 33 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bay Port is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Sheboygan North get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday. The Pirates not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 16, 2024 (when they won 12-0).
Bay Port got a great performance from Parker Lawson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Beau Jensen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Artie Adams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Bay Port always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan South fell victim to De Pere and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Redbirds, falling 10-0.
Sheboygan South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Heling, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Heling has hit this season.
Bay Port pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sheboygan South, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
Bay Port was able to grind out a solid win over Sheboygan South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Redwings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
