Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Clarke Prep Gators walked away with it. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over Edgewood Academy on Friday. This was payback for Clarke Prep, who suffered a 42-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Edgewood Academy still got an impressive performance from Brock Whitt, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
Clarke Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Edgewood Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Clarke Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Banks Academy. Banks Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Clarke Prep likes a good challenge. Edgewood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
