Baseball Recap: Oldenburg Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Oldenburg Academy proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 18) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Twisters as they're now sitting on three straight.

Clay Eckstein made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Eckstein was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

Eckstein wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Stenger, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Oldenburg Academy's record is now 4-2. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oldenburg Academy will take on Lawrenceburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Twisters surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will challenge Park Tudor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
