Branford is 2-8 against Lafayette since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Meanwhile, Lafayette scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Jefferson County at home to the tune of 88-54. Lafayette has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.
Lafayette got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tywan Williamson out in front who scored 23 points along with eight assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. Jalen Hill was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.
Branford's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Lafayette, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Branford ended up a good deal behind Lafayette in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 61-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lafayette's Amarie Fleming, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds.
