While Cotopaxi has struggled on the road with four straight losses dating back to last season, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Sophie Eggleston. The Pirates walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers thanks in part to Eggleston, who had 35 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 26-24.

Cotopaxi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Swann, who had 20 digs.

Cotopaxi was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matchups.

Cotopaxi's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Cotopaxi and South Park will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will challenge Kiowa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
