Despite the defeat, Our Lady of the Elms had strong showings from Pilar Hampton, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 22 rebounds, and Faith Farris, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 52.4% of Our Lady of the Elms' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Open Door Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 28-27 to the Warriors. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Open Door Christian in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.
Our Lady of the Elms now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Open Door Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Our Lady of the Elms suffered a grim 50-26 defeat to the Patriots in their previous matchup back in December of 2019.
