AAA Region VII recap Sept. 26, 2012
Myrtle Beach extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region VII this week by beating Conway, 56-55. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Seahawks.
Myrtle Beach and the Tigers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Myrtle Beach eventually emerging with a 56-55 victory.
St. James's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joshua Roper threw for 50 and one touchdown and Tre McCullum had 44 yards receiving. On the ground Allen Crum chipped in 59 yards. Jacob Loud helped St. James' passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
Georgetown's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Caleb Hughes has thrown for 474 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Alvin Walker has 18 catches for 203 yards. Julian Lunsford leads the league in rushing with 451 yards.
There should be lots of points scored when Georgetown and St. James face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 97 this season, while St. James has scored 110. Georgetown scored 24 points last week as it beat Loris.
North Myrtle Beach took down Green Sea-Floyds 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
