The West Tallahatchie Choctaws waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Water Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-25 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-8.
West Tallahatchie can attribute much of their success to Jamarria Bailey, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Bailey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drexel Miller, who scored ten points.
West Tallahatchie's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Water Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Tallahatchie will take on Simmons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Simmons is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Water Valley, they will be playing at home against Calhoun City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three games.
