Memorial is 0-10 against Brookfield since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Memorial struggled with assists on Monday (Champion had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Memorial took a serious blow against Champion, falling 54-20. While losing is never fun, Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 759th, while Champion is ranked 123rd).
Memorial's loss came about despite a quality game from Diamon Sims, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Sims scored a full 70% of Memorial's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Brookfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 51-15 win over Valley Christian. That 51-15 margin sets a new team best for Brookfield this season.
Memorial's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Brookfield, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
