Somerset Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Flanagan on the road to the tune of 74-25. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Somerset Prep has managed all season.
Jocelyn Gagnon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Riley Stoker, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Flanagan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was D?naela Myers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Myers is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Palmer, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Somerset Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Flanagan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset Prep will take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pembroke Pines Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Flanagan, they will play host again and welcome the Mustangs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
