The Richard Montgomery Rockets have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Churchill Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th. Richard Montgomery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Churchill is ranked 24th).
After soaring to 39 points the game before, Richard Montgomery were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Quince Orchard, falling 43-7.
Kyle Morrison put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown. Morrison's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards.
Meanwhile, Churchill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 15-7 victory over Northwest.
It was another big night for David Avit, who rushed for 172 yards. Avit is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Churchill's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Richard Montgomery's defeat dropped theirs to 3-4.
Richard Montgomery came up short against Churchill in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 34-21. Will Richard Montgomery have more luck at home instead of on the road?
