Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Woodland Park turned things around against Sierra on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Stallions.

Sarah Fuhrmann and Christine Renteria did most of the damage at the plate: Fuhrmann went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Renteria went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Fuhrmann a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler DiFabio, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Woodland Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Florence lost 15-6 to Alamosa on Monday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Mean Moose recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Addison Dalton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Brooklyn DeSalvo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Woodland Park's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Florence, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Woodland Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .501. However, it's not like Florence struggles in that department as they've averaged .497. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
