Everything went their way against Owings Mills on Saturday as they made off with a 22-8 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Benjamin Arneklev made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Carver A&T: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, Trevor Schnirel was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Carver A&T is undefeated when Schnirel posts three or more RBI, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landen Gendimenico, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Carver A&T always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Carver A&T's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Overlea, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
