1A Conference 8 recap November 5, 2013
KIPP Pride's Larry Cotton rumbled for the longest rushing play in 1A Conference 8 this season in his game against Granville Central last week. Cotton's team fell to the Panthers as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 166 in all.
KIPP Pride fell to Granville Central 64-36 last week, the largest margin of any game. KaDarius Goode ran for 190 yards in the defeat.
John Hammett's team's Jay Parker and Dylan Beckwith led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Parker has thrown for 1,796 yards this season, while Beckwith has 34 catches for 629 yards. Louisburg's ANTONIO SMITH leads the league in rushing yards with 931.
SMITH of the the Warriors is just 69 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 148 carries SMITH has put up 931 yards this year.
As it stands, the Chargers are in fourth, while Louisburg is in first.
