Football Recap: Arp Piles Up the Points Against Winona

Arp had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-0 win over the Winona Wildcats. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 27 points or more this season.

Arp's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Langley, who threw for 133 yards and two TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. Those 133 passing yards gave Langley a new career-high. Zane Bourque did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Arp's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Winona, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Arp will face off against New Diana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
