Despite the loss, Dinwiddie still got an impressive performance from Carolina Berry, who scored 20 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Berry scored a full 41.7% of Dinwiddie's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christlyne Jones, who scored 5 points.
Dinwiddie's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hopewell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dinwiddie will take on Hanover at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Hanover is ranked 117th, while Dinwiddie is ranked 95th). As for Hopewell, they will be playing at home against Colonial Heights at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Colonial Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
