Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Extends Winning Streak to Two

Glenwood Springs came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Eagle Valley, but Dylan Zoller wouldn't allow it. The Eagle Valley Devils managed a 70-66 victory over the Glenwood Springs Demons on Tuesday thanks to Zoller, who went 14-for-23 on his way to 44 points in addition to six boards and four steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Malachi Barros was another key player, putting up five points and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamison Godfread, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds. Godfread is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 58% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Parrington, who put up 14 points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Eagle Valley and bumps their season record up to 15-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-17 Summit (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.5% over those games). As for Glenwood Springs, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.

Eagle Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 87-48 victory against Battle Mountain on the 20th. As for Glenwood Springs, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-35 win against Summit on the 20th.
