Leelynd Durbin Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Flanagan/Woodland's Leelynd Durbin, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Durbin rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
Flanagan/Woodland's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Durbin and Flanagan/Woodland will head out to take on Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Austin Nelson Leads West Prairie/Southeastern over Galva
Austin Nelson produced his most outstanding game to date while leading West Prairie/Southeastern to the win on Friday. Nelson rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 112 or more in the last three games he's played.
Nelson is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Peoria Heights on Friday. When Nelson last faced Peoria Heights back in September of 2023, he rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
