The Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 37-21 win over Northwestern.
Detroit Cristo Rey found their leader in underclassman Ericka Sheridan , who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. The game was Sheridan 's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jada Dunkin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Detroit Cristo Rey's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Northwestern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Detroit Cristo Rey will face off against Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Mooney Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 638th, while Detroit Cristo Rey is ranked 285th). As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to face off against Osborn at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
