The Broomfield Eagles pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 90-71 bruising from Fort Collins. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (70), Broomfield still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Jayce King, who scored 40 points for Fort Collins. That makes it ten consecutive games in which King has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. Another player making a difference was Marcel Herrera, who scored 13 points.
Broomfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Fort Collins, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broomfield will challenge Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Fort Collins, they will head out on the road to challenge Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Boulder is ranked 129th, while Fort Collins is ranked 137th).
